The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Head of the Party Central Committee’s External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Adolescents Nguyen Dac Vinh, and Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia.
The event started with a special artistic program, themed ‘The Land of Heritage – Essence and Identity,’ imbued with culture in the land of Kinh Bac. During the program, participants were entertained with special performances by artists from provinces and cities having UNESCO-recognized intangible cultural heritage.
The festival, which is scheduled to take place from February 24 to 28, features many attractive activities, such as love duet singing competition, presentation of “The People’s Artisan” title, love duet singing on boats, experience events, water puppet performance, swimming competition in Cau river, cycling competition, paragliding event, introduction of OCOP (one commune, one product) products, and free bus tours to explore the land of love duet, among other.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huong Giang said that through the festival, the Northern province of Bac Ninh wishes to turn this event into an annual large-scale cultural tourism activity, thus building a cultural product and cultural tourism brand of Bac Ninh on the basis of cultural values of the nation. Bac Ninh also wishes to promote exchange activities to connect localities with cultural heritage across the country, strengthen the spirit of solidarity, cooperation, and development.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha handed over the decision recognizing three more items as national treasures to Bac Ninh’s Party Committee and authorities. They are a bronze jar of the Dong Son Culture, stone stele in Tinh Lu Pagoda, and the statue of the Goddess of Mercy in Cung Kiem Pagoda.
