PANO – Tran Dan's poetry collection and the translated work "Nua Kia Cua Hit-le" (The Other Side of Hitler) won the Hanoi Writers' Association' Awards 2008 in the categories of Life Achievement in Poetry and Best Translated Work, respectively. This was affirmed through a vote by all 9 members of the jury board on Sept.12
th.
"Nua kia cua Hit-le" is a novel by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, a French writer and was translated into Vietnamese by Nguyen Dinh Thanh.
Along with the two works, Hoang Viet Hang's collection of poems published in 2008 by Women Publishing House received 6 votes.
No award is given to books on literature and literary criticism.
Under the Association's regulations, ten best works were selected from works published in the period of July 1st, 2007 to June 30th, 2008. The award ceremony will be held in mid-October, 2008.
