Hanoi’s book street to be launched next year
PANO – The Hanoi municipal People’s Committee on December 19 launched Hanoi's book street project, the first of its kind in the city to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the National Resistance Day.
An art performance at the launching ceremony
The book street includes a small square for exchanges and seminars; a reading area; a flower garden; a children's playground; and information booths for readers and visitors to learn more about Hanoi’s history, culture and tourism.
In addition, a memorial site to commemorate people and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for protecting the capital city in 1946 will be built in the book street.
The project is scheduled to be operational on the Vietnam Book Day (April 21, 2017).
