This international event, first held in 2015, follows the inclusion of "The Gastronomic Meal of the French" on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The fifth edition will start from 21 March 2019 to 24 with the participation of more than 5,000 chefs from around the world, who will work to create a four-course French-style dinner, using seasonal, eco-friendly produce, to promote a socially responsible cuisine.

The proposed theme for the Good France Program 2019 is sustainable actions in gastronomy to preserve the planet and the French region of Provence, the Good France 2019’s chosen French locality to promote the French cuisine.

Accordingly, Provence will be the foremost destination for gastronomy and as such will be promoted at Good France events both in France and internationally. For the first time, the Bouches-du-Rhône department and Provence Tourisme will launch Marseille Provence Gastronomie 2019 (MPG2019), a year of gastronomy in Provence under the patronage of renowned French chef Gérald Passedat.

It will also be a year of celebrations, meetings between chefs, gourmet markets, picnics, urban vegetable gardens and more — a genuine gastronomic journey through Provence.
