German Ambassador to Vietnam Helga Margarete Barth speaks at the event. |
The event offers an opportunity to highlight the strong partnership between Vietnam and Germany, built on mutual respect, equality, and a shared commitment to sustainable development.
In her opening remarks, German Ambassador to Vietnam Helga Margarete Barth emphasized that “for more than three decades, Germany’s development cooperation in Vietnam has accompanied the country’s progress, for the benefit of the Vietnamese people, from early social welfare support to today’s focus on global challenges such as climate change, energy transition, and sustainable growth.”
Addressing the event, Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang stated, “Fifty years may not be a long journey, yet it is a meaningful one. Germany has stood by Vietnam through difficult times, during the Doi Moi (Renewal) process and in the country’s current socio-economic development.” She expressed her delight at seeing the exhibition booths representing many effective areas of cooperation between the two countries, from the career orientation bus in vocational training and education, to the “magic cube” for exploring sustainable development in Vietnam through technological applications, and cultural and sports exchanges between German women’s football clubs and the Vietnamese people.
