Da Nang's heritage illuminated through fireworks
The French team's performance, titled “Heritage – Da Nang Shines,” told the story of heritage through a richly cinematic and multi-layered fireworks display. Using fireworks as a visual language, the performance recreated the cultural layers accumulated through different historical periods while highlighting Da Nang's beauty and its journey of international integration.

Impressive fireworks performances by Lux Factory POK 2.0 (France) |
Despite being newcomers to the festival, the French team continuously amazed spectators by transforming Da Nang's night sky into a mesmerizing stage of light. Multicolored titanium-tail fireworks, soft falling-leaf effects, and glittering waterfall cascades stretching across the sky created overlapping visual layers reminiscent of cultural sediment accumulated over time. The performance reached its climax with simultaneous bursts of golden fireworks illuminating the entire Han River, honoring the city's heritage and vibrant spirit.
Meanwhile, Vietnam's Z121 Vina Pyrotech reaffirmed the stature of the DIFF 2025 runner-up with a display deeply rooted in Vietnamese cultural heritage, showcasing a sense of familiarity and national identity. A standout feature of the performance was the recreation of the palm tree, an iconic symbol of Phu Tho, the ancestral land of Vietnam, through modern fireworks technology. The emotional climax came as the Da Nang sky erupted in brilliant fireworks synchronized with the iconic song Noi Vong Tay Lon (Joining Hands in Unity), while audiences enthusiastically sang along and applauded.

Grand artistic celebration honoring heritage values
The second night of DIFF 2026 also treated audiences to a spectacular riverside music and arts program featuring renowned performers.
If the fireworks elevated the concept of heritage through light, the stage performances served as emotional threads connecting Da Nang's tangible and intangible cultural values. Through music, dance, and performing art, audiences were invited on a journey to discover the region's rich cultural heritage.
The opening performance, “Than Nam Hai” (Whale) by singer Dong Hung and a dance troupe, set a powerful and majestic tone for the evening. Inspired by the sea, the performance vividly portrayed the spiritual life of coastal communities in central Vietnam, where stories of the ocean have long been an integral part of local cultural identity.
Timeless classics such as “Hymne à l'amour” introduced audiences to the romance of French culture, while performances including “Chieu Hoi An” (Hoi An in the afternoon), “Apsara Dancer by the Han River,” and “Flying Across the Heritage Region” expanded the cultural journey, showcasing the distinctive heritage values of Da Nang and central Vietnam.

A vibrant artistic program at the second competition night of DIFF 2026 |
According to Meritorious Artist Quang Hao, Director of Trung Vuong Theater and art director of DIFF 2026, through the DIFF artistic program themed ‘Heritage,’ international friends were introduced to a miniature Vietnam and to central Vietnam blessed with an extraordinary wealth of heritage.
This year, DIFF introduced a new digital experience by offering audiences personalized AI-powered souvenirs through the Sun Paradise Land application. With a few simple steps, visitors can transform their fireworks memories into vintage-style postage stamps or design electronic postcards to send to family and friends. These innovative experiences not only extend the emotions of the festival beyond the performance night but also allow audiences to take home a unique and personal memory of DIFF 2026.
