The commemorative area dedicated to the late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong at Duc Tan commune, Mo Duc District, Quang Ngai Central Province, will be enlarged by nearly 20,000 square metres, bringing its total area to 4 hectares, said Nguyen Dang Vu, Director of the central Quang Ngai province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The extended area includes an additional show room displaying objects related to the former Prime Minister’s life and career.

The second phase of the project is expected to start early next year with an estimated cost of over VND19 billion, but the commemorative area has been officially opened to visitors since September 2nd, 2008.
