Book on Vietnam-Soviet Union relations during Indochina War launched
PANO - Vietnam’s State Records Management and Archives Department and the Russian Federal Archives on August 28 launched a book, entitled “Soviet Union and Vietnam during the first Indochina War and the 1954 Geneva Conference.”

The book was compiled and first published in the Russian language by the Russian Federal Archives in 2017 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution.
In 2019, marking the 25th anniversary of the signing of the treaty on basic principles for Vietnam-Russia friendship, the Vietnam’s State Records Management and the Archives Department, the Russian Federal Archives and the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Hanoi continued compiling and translating the book from Russian into Vietnamese to meet the public's demand at home and abroad on research activities.
The 900-page Vietnamese version contains nearly 200 documents, images, letters, statements made by leaders, minutes of meetings, written forms of the telephone conversations related to the Geneva Conference as well as documents on the international and communist movements for peace in Vietnam and Indochina from 1950 to 1954.
The book aims to contribute to promoting the good traditional relationship between Vietnam and Russia.
