This was the second concert of the “Good Morning Vietnam” series. The first concert, “Kenny G Live in Vietnam,” was organized in November 2013. The event was jointly held by Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper and IB Group.

Bond members in Ao dai

Bond has four members, namely Tania Davis (violin), Eos Counsell (violin), Elspeth Hanson (viola), and Gay-Yee Westerhoff (cello). With over 5 million albums sales, Bond remains the best-selling and the world’s most successful string quartet after more than two decades of debut.

Addressing the event, the People Newspaper’s Editor-in-Chief and head of the event’s steering board Le Quoc Minh said that the “Good Morning Vietnam” series, launched last year, targets to bring top-notch music to Vietnamese music lovers, and to promote the image of Vietnamese people to the world through MVs by participating international artists as well. All proceeds from the “Bond Live in Vietnam” program will be used to support Vietnamese affected by Typhoon Yagi.

The string quartet’s performances leave a deep impression on the audiences.

In the “Bond Live in Vietnam” program, directed by Director Pham Hoang Nam, all Bond members wore Ao dai (traditional long dress of Vietnam) to perform for the first time. The four artists expressed their honor to wear the traditional costumes of Vietnamese women to perform in Hanoi, an unprecedented experience of the band in its history of overseas tours.

The quartet played “Viva,” “Shine,” “Betroot,” “Quixote,” “Highly Strung,” “Summer,” “Winter,” “Allegreto,” “Rondo,” “Fuego,” “Explosive” and more on the background of Vietnam’s landscapes and traditional culture, leaving a deep impressions on the audiences.
