 A performance at the opening ceremony
The event is to popularize the beauty of the wild flower and the image of mountainous province of Ha Giang to both domestic and international friends. It is considered to be one of the most important events to promote tourism potentials and strengths of Ha Giang and to attract more tourists to the mountainous area, thereby making contributions to improving the living standards of ethnic minority people.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy-Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Duc Quy noted that, located in the far North of Vietnam, Ha Giang province is rich in culture as it encompasses the locations of 19 ethnic groups, all with different traditional cultural heritages and customs. With a number of superb landscapes and rich in culture, Ha Giang has turned tourism into a key sector in its economic development, making contributions to eliminating hunger and reducing poverty across the province. 

Coming to the festival, the tourists will have a chance to contemplate the striking beauty of the buckwheat flower as well as the Dong Van Karst Plateau, enjoy special local cuisine, learn traditional cultural practices of ethnic minority people as well as experience elements of their daily lives.

This month-long event is expected to welcome tens of thousands of tourists. Every day the province’s famous tourism attractions, such as Lung Cu National Flag Pole, Lung Cam Culture and Tourism Village and Ma Pi Leng Mountain Pass receive thousands of visitors.
