Vietnamese, Lao localities jointly bust massive drug trafficking ring
The Border Guard Command in the Central province of Quang Tri and the security forces from Laos’ Savannakhet province arrested two Lao suspects for trafficking 215,000 pills.
According to the Command, it was the largest drug volume seized in that part of the Vietnam – Laos border area.
In the afternoon of October 3, the forces caught two Lao nationals red handed smuggling the pills, suspected of being Methamphetamine, from Laos to Vietnam.

The arrested were Savat Dixay Nhaxombat and Banpachit Keovilayvong, both born in 1995 and residing in Savannakhet. The two were said to be significant members of a ring that has been involved in several massive drug transactions.
Also seized at the scene were two cars with registered Lao plates and four cell phones.
The case is under further investigation.
