PANO – Doctors and medical workers of Military Hospital 175 under the Ministry of National Defense and the Ho Chi Minh City Ophthalmic Hospital on October 6 provided free eye surgeries and eye tests for war veterans, poor people, Vietnamese residents, and officials of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces at Preahket Mealea Hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The program, with the participation of Vietnamese Deputy Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Tran Don and Cambodian Secretary of State for Defense Meung Samphon, is part of activities of the ongoing Vietnam-Cambodia Trade Fair from October 6 to 10 in Phnom Penh under the theme ““Friendship, Cooperation and Development”.
It is expected to give free eye tests and medicines to 200 patients, free surgeries to 300 others in modern PHACO technology; and present gifts to 300 needy people.
On this occasion, the delegation also transferred modern technologies and provided personnel training for doctors of Preahket Mealea Hospital.
Addressing the launching ceremony, Lieutenant General Tran Don highly valued the meaningful program, which contributed to reflecting solidarity, traditional friendship and cooperation between the armies and peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia. He urged the Vietnam's hospital to promote cooperation with Preahket Mealea Hospital, create favorable conditions for technology transfer, personnel training as well as provide equipment for the Cambodian hospital.
