Vietnam receives ASEAN aid to storm victims
PANO – A batch of relief goods from ASEAN member countries arrived in Cam Ranh Airport, Khanh Hoa province on November 16.
The 40-ton aid includes 600 sets of household utensils, 3,000 sets of personal hygiene aids, 1,000 sets of house repair tools, an aluminum-clad ship and a 40 HP engine worth over USD 170,000.

The goods were sent by the Jakarta-based ASEAN Coordinating Center for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management, the primary regional coordinating agency on disaster management and emergency response.
Then, the aid will be handed over to local people in Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Quang Ngai, and Binh Dinh provinces, to help them soon recover from the severe damage caused by recent storm Damrey.
This was the second time in 2017 ASEAN member states offered valuable aid to the Vietnamese people affected by natural disasters. The first time was to support victims of flash floods and landslides in Northern mountainous area in August.
