The diplomat extended his warmest congratulations to Thongsavanh Phomvihane and other senior Lao leaders who were elected and approved at the first session of the 10th National Assembly. He stressed that their election and appointment to key positions of the Lao State reflect the high regard and firm confidence of the Lao Party, State and people in their significant contributions to the national revolutionary cause, as well as national construction and development.

He expressed his belief that, with their competence, prestige and extensive experience, Lao leaders will continue to lead the country in successfully implementing the Resolution of the 12th Party Congress and the 10th five-year socio-economic development plan (2026–2030), building a peaceful, independent, democratic, unified and prosperous Laos along socialist-oriented lines. He also highlighted the importance of further nurturing the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic ties between Vietnam and Laos in an increasingly substantive and effective manner.

The ambassador thanked the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane personally, for their continued support and favorable conditions for the Vietnamese Embassy to fulfil its tasks. He affirmed that the embassy will continue to serve as a bridge to effectively implement high-level agreements between the two Parties and States, as well as cooperation agreements between the two governments, ministries, sectors and localities, including between the two foreign ministries.

For his part, Thongsavanh expressed his appreciation for the ambassador’s visit and the timely congratulations from Vietnamese leaders, noting that this demonstrates the unique and special relationship between the two countries. He briefed the Vietnamese side on key outcomes of the opening session of the 10th National Assembly, including the election and appointment of key State and Government positions.

He affirmed that, in his new role, he will continue to direct relevant agencies to effectively implement high-level agreements and further promote “strategic cohesion” between the two countries. He expressed his hope that the two foreign ministries and the Vietnamese Embassy will maintain close coordination, enhance information exchange, share experience, and support each other at regional and international forums, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and beyond.
