During the visit, the Vietnamese delegation paid a courtesy visit to Cambodian Minister of Information Khieu Kanharith and had meetings with delegates from some Cambodian press agencies and the Cambodian Union of Journalists' Association.

Minister Khieu Kanharith warmly welcomed the Vietnamese delegation while giving delegates an overview of the press and media of the country. Cambodia currently runs 429 printed newspapers, 17 television and 254 radio-broadcasting stations. However, only 20 printed newspapers operate efficiently due to the development of social media.

On behalf of the Vietnamese side, Nguyen Thai Thien thanked the leadership of the Cambodia Ministry of Information for their warm reception. He hoped that the visit would contribute to further boosting the bilateral cooperation between the two countries’ information and communications sectors.

Within the framework of the working visit, the Vietnamese delegation exchanged experience with the Cambodian National Radio, Rasmei Kampuchea Newspaper and the Cambodian Union of Journalists' Associations. At the meetings, the two sides focused on journalism, press management, freelancers’ management as well as revenues from advertisements on press and media. The two sides agreed to continue strengthening solidarity and promoting journalism exchange in the coming time.

The Vietnamese delegation also visited the Siem Riep’s Department of Information. During the meeting, the two sides shared experience in managing press agencies and approaches to deal with violations of the press law. On this occasion, the Vietnamese guests also made a trip to the village of Vietnamese nationals in Tonlé Sap and presented gifts to teachers and students at Vietnam Primary School.

The People’s Army Newspaper would like to introduce some images of the Vietnamese journalist delegation’s visit in Cambodia:
