During the visit, Mr. Thongsavanh Phomvihane paid tribute to Vietnamese volunteer soldiers, martyrs, and experts who sacrificed their lives in the Lao battlefield.

Accompanied by Mr. Truong Quang Hoai Nam, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations, and leaders of Thua Thien Hue province, the delegation visited and inquired after veterans, including Truong Quang Long (Tay Loc ward), Duong Duy Loc (Thuan Hoa ward), and Mrs. Pham Thi Uyen, a martyr's wife (Phuoc Vinh ward).

The Lao official expressed his deep gratitude to the Vietnamese veterans, martyrs, and experts who fought bravely on all fronts, shared their hardships, and stood side by side with the Lao military and people. He acknowledged the significant role played by Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisers in the glorious victory of the Lao revolution in the two resistance wars against the French and the U.S. invaders, contributing to nurturing the great friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

He hoped that Vietnamese veterans and martyrs' families would continue to promote the spirit of unity and solidarity between the two parties, states, and militaries. He also encouraged active education and information dissemination to make today's youth proud, inherit, preserve, and nurture the special friendship and solidarity between the two countries, and contribute to the successful implementation of the foreign policy of Vietnam and Laos in the new situation.
