A photo exhibition entitled “Vietnam-ASEAN, Imprints 15 Years”, opened in Hanoi on July 20 as part of the activities on the sidelines of the 43 rd ASEAN Ministerial Meeting (AMM 43) and related meetings.
The exhibition aims to introduce typical and lively images of all the fields in the lives of Vietnam and other ASEAN countries, including social culture, science and technology, economics, politics, diplomacy and sports.
It includes photos of landmark events marking 15 years of Vietnam ’s accession to ASEAN, the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and other ASEAN member countries as well as Vietnam ’s positive contributions to the bloc.
These are marvellous images of Vietnam’s participation in ASAEN over the past 15 years, said ASEAN General Secretary Surin Pitsuwan.
He also emphasised Vietnam’s contributions to ASEAN, saying that Vietnam has played an active and useful role in ASEAN and its development also helps create a dynamic ASEAN.
Co-organised by the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnam News Agency, the exhibition aims to contribute to the overall success of Vietnam’s 2010 ASEAN Chairman term and promote Vietnam, its Chairmanship and positive contributions in the year as it assumes the position of ASEAN Chair as well as mark 15 years of Vietnam’s accession to ASEAN and the 43 rd founding anniversary of the grouping.
The exhibition is taking place at the My Dinh National Conference Centre until July 23. The photos will be then exhibited at the Hanoi Opera House on August 7, 2010 on the occasion of the 15 th anniversary of Vietnam joining ASEAN.
