At a short news briefing before the summit, President Donald Trump said that he was not in a rush on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. This would mean that he has accepted a relatively slow denuclearization process with phases.

President Trump stated: “There’s no rush, we just want to do the right deal. Chairman Kim and myself we want to do the right deal. Speed is not important, what’s important is that we do the right deal.”

Earlier after the dinner at the Metropole Hotel between U.S. President Donald Trump and Leader of the DPRK Kim Jong Un, the U.S. President also affirmed that he had a “good relationship” with Leader of the DPRK Kim Jong Un, and that the two sides discussed good deals during the dinner.

Meanwhile, Leader of the DPRK Kim Jong Un believed that the second DPRK-USA Summit in Hanoi would be successful with good outcomes.

Answering to queries of reporter David Nakamura of The Guardian, Leader of the DPRK Kim Jong Un said through a translator: “It’s too early to tell, but I wouldn’t say that I’m pessimistic. For what I feel right now, I do have a feeling that good results will come out.”

It must be noted, this is the first time Leader the DPRK Kim Jong Un has directly answered a question from a reporter of the Western press and media.

On the schedule, the two leaders will meet again at 2pm today and are expected to sign some deals.

At 4pm today, U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to host a news briefing on the outcomes of the second DPRK-USA Summit at Marriot Hotel, Hanoi, where he is staying. However, according to the White House, there may not be any joint statement of the two sides.
