Trekking Lang Biang in a day with local people

Lang Biang is a mountain range with the highest mount of 2,167 meters. It is located in Lac Duong district, some 15 kilometers from the center of Da Lat city. The range has three mounts, namely Ra Da Hill, Ong (Grandpa) Mount, and Ba (Grandma) Mount. Ba Mount is the highest of the three, so most of tourists trekking Lang Biang want to conquer it.

Trekker Tran Viet Anh, aged 28, a resident in Da Lat, is familiar with Lang Biang route. He said that trekking Lang Biang is an interesting experience that many people choose to challenge themselves.

To conquer the highest point of the mountain range, tourists often depart from the tourist area, and then go along the trail through an old pine forest and a primeval forest. Although the path is steep, the diversity of the forest ecosystem and the cool climate of Lam Vien plateau excite visitors.

On the trekking route, there are many places for visitors to check in. According to Viet Anh, there are many ways to conquer Lang Biang peak. From the tourist area, visitors can get on a jeep to Ra Da Hill at an altitude of 1,929 meters, a familiar check-in site.

From the top of the mountain, visitors can view Da Lat city and the mountains covered in clouds. In autumn, Lang Biang is beautiful with red maple leaves. Viet Anh said he weekly guides 5-7 groups of tourists to trek and explore Lang Biang.

This is a stop-over in the pine forest. The route to the peak of Lang Biang is not too long, between 10 and 12 kilometers, suitable for trekking during the day or camping overnight to hunt clouds. If tourists choose to go overnight, they will experience the sunrise in the forest. Lang Biang is not too high and too difficult to climb. However, to conquer 12 kilometers of forest path with steep terrains, visitors should have good fitness, wear convenient clothes, and shoes with good grip.

Tourists successfully conquer Lang Biang in April. According to Viet Anh, trekking Lang Biang in a day is an interesting experience, suitable for all visitors. It is ideal to trek Lang Biang in dry season, from November to April, because the weather is favorable, the forest scenery also has its own beauty. In rainy season, visitors should study the weather and terrains to avoid risks. To trek Lang Biang in a day, visitors should start their journey early in the morning to watch the sunrise in the pine forest, rest at noon on the peak and return in the early afternoon.
