During holidays and anniversaries, visitors flock to the tunnels not only to relax, but also to practically nurture their patriotism and national pride.

Emphasizing traditional revolutionary education, the Party Committee and Directorate of Cu Chi Tunnels historical relic site have consistently focused on preserving artifacts and upgrading historical works. In 2025, the relic site completed several new investments, creating breakthroughs in its historical tourism model. These include the official operation of a unique cinema inside a C-130 transport aircraft, the upgrade of a 3D cinema featuring a modern sandbox model, the inauguration of the “Ho Chi Minh cultural space,” and the introduction of a Truong Sa island model next to a simulated East Sea lake.

Senior Colonel Le Van Dung, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the relic site, stated that to spread educational values, the unit has coordinated to hold scientific seminars on compiling a chronicle of the area. It has also teamed up with the National Museum of History to inventory and arrange artifacts scientifically. The unit’s leadership have directed functional agencies to interview 31 historical witnesses who lived, fought, and dug tunnels during the resistance wars against the French colonialists and U.S. imperialists. Additionally, dozens of books, maps, and documents have been collected to enhance revolutionary education for younger generation.

Furthermore, the unit has collected and supplemented numerous historical artifacts from the two resistance wars to serve visitors, especially schools and organizations conducting “return-to-the-roots” trips.

Now, visitors to Cu Chi can also participate in hands-on activities such as rice milling, pounding, transplanting, and fish catching, as well as watch the “War base Moon” (Trang chien khu) program, which authentically recreates the wartime life, labor, and combat support of Cu Chi residents.

Sharing her thoughts on this engaging educational approach, Trinh Thi Hien Tran, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and Chairwoman of the municipal Young Pioneer Council, noted that the Youth Union’s chapters have frequently organized admission ceremonies for new Party and Union members at the relic site to add solemnity and significance. She emphasized that this practice educates young people about revolutionary traditions, thereby igniting their determination to strive and dedicate themselves to the country.
