Golden Season Festival in Fansipan
PANO - The “May village Golden Season” Festival takes place from August 17 to September 1 at the Sun World Fansipan Legend, opening up a vibrant, colorful cultural space in the highlands.

The festival recreates the traditional rituals and activities of Lao Cai’s ethnic minority groups during the rice harvest season, becoming a gathering place for the H'mong ethnic people in Sa Pa and Dien Bien, as well as the Xa Pho, Tay, Giay, Dao Do, Thai and Ha Nhi ethnic people.
During the festival, May village will be filled with the golden color of ripe rice, corn, and straw. Especially, every weekend, a special festival for ethnic minority groups living here will be held, bringing experiences about traditional rituals, local cultural activities, and folk games to visitors.

On August 17-18, Kho Gia Gia festival will be kicked off. This is the largest and oldest harvest festival of the Black Ha Nhi ethnic people. It is held before the harvest season. Participating in the festival, visitors can witness the worship ceremony, showing the respect of the Black Ha Nhi people to deities. |

On August 24-25, Then Kin Pang festival will occur. Then Kin Pang is a ritual to celebrate adopted children and pray to deities for favorable weather and a prosperous life. Apart from praying for a bountiful harvest, Then Kin Pang festival also offers an opportunity for couples to express their love via joyful songs and dances. The cuisine of the Thai ethnic people is also unique, promising to bring a complete experience to visitors. |

In addition, just a five-minute walk from May village, visitors can reach Fansipan cable car station and start their journey to explore the roof of Indochina. Autumn is the ideal time to visit Sa Pa because of the golden ripe rice fields, and the orange-red colors of the Crocosmia Festival. |

If the weather is favorable, visitors can also admire the "sea" of white clouds at an altitude of 3,142 m. |
