Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy highlighted the tourism industry’s recovery efforts, with domestic visitor numbers in 2024 surpassing pre-pandemic levels and international arrivals reaching record highs. In the first quarter of 2025, Vietnam welcomed over 6 million international visitors, up nearly 30% year-on-year.

Despite these gains, the sector still faces challenges, including underdeveloped infrastructure, limited inter-provincial coordination, and low competitiveness compared to regional peers.

The Deputy Minister emphasized the need to improve tourism products, human resource quality, and market promotion to further elevate Vietnam’s tourism industry.

Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association Cao Thi Ngoc Lan said the event brings a fresh breeze of green tourism- a growing global trend. Participating units are expected to create a vibrant “feast” of tourism, showcasing new products, special tour offers, attractive destinations, and unique eco-friendly experiences.

This year’s event features over 450 booths from more than 600 organizations and businesses, including participants from 56 Vietnamese provinces and cities and 16 countries and territories. Green tourism remains a key focus, with exhibitors showcasing eco-friendly products and experiences.

Notable highlights of the event include a forum on green destinations, award ceremonies for outstanding tourism businesses and individuals in 2024, and promotion conferences from various localities.

The event runs until April 13 at the ICE International Exhibition Center in Hanoi.
