From April 28 to May 2, the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai hosts numerous activities for Sapa Culture and Tourism Week 2016.

The opening ceremony featured a traditional folklore and cultural performance themed “Colour of cherry blossoms on Fansipan” with the participation of artists and people of ethnic minorities.

Visitors can attend the In-the-Cloud festival and a cultural festival of the Mong people’s Cat Cat Village, experience “a day as a farmer” at Ta Phin Commune, learn to pick and use medicinal herbs, and weave brocade according to the traditional process of the Red Dao minority.

The People’s Committee of Sapa District expects to attract over 50,000 tourists to the event.
