In particular, the total number of arrivals to Da Nang rose by 14.2% over the same period last year to 355,547 people, including 101,634 foreigners and 253,913 locals, up by 20.2% and 12% year-on-year, respectively.
According to Tran Chi Cuong, Deputy-Director of the Department, the increase in the number of tourists resulted from the coincidence of the national holidays with the opening ceremony of the 2018 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival together with various special performances and sideline activities.
Foreign visitors, mainly from Northeast Asian countries, including the Republic of Korea, China, and Japan, traveled to Da Nang on direct flights.
In addition, many other activities in celebration of this year’s Fireworks Festival such as the opening ceremony of the beach tourism season, street music and dances, and more met both locals’ and visitors’ entertainment demands during the holiday period.
