Ho Chi Minh City’s medical tourism handbook launched
PANO - Ho Chi Minh City’s Tourism and Health Departments co-organized a ceremony to unveil the city’s medical tourism handbook on May 23.
The handbook supports both domestic and foreign tourists with basic information about medical tourism services in the city, including a general view of the tourism and healthcare industry of Vietnam, information, images and locations of medical facilities, tourist attractions and accommodation, together with shopping and eating places in the city.
In addition, general information, addresses, phone numbers and answers to frequently asked questions about medical tourism are also provided.
The handbook will be distributed to travel agencies, hotels, restaurants and other eating places in the city.
In recent times, to diversify the city’s tourist services, the Tourism Department has cooperated with the Health Department to implement programs to promote medical tourism such as organizing a seminar on developing medical tourist services, an event themed “Dental Tourism”, signing agreements among tourism agencies and dental clinics, publishing 10,000 copies of the Ho Chi Minh City’s medical tourism handbook in English-Vietnamese bilingual versions. The book is a useful companion for tourists, contributing to popularizing the images of Vietnam in general and of Ho Chi Minh City in particular.
Last year, 6.3 million foreign tourists visited Ho Chi Minh City and the total revenue of the tourism industry reached nearly VND 116,000 billion.
In the first quarter of this year, the city welcomed nearly 2 million foreign visitors while its tourism revenue was estimated at VND 32,117 billion.
