A Famtrip tour group, representing 25 well-established travel agencies of Hong Kong, on March 11th, started a fact finding trip to the Central Region of Vietnam to carry out a survey on local tourism potential.

The group will undertake a five-day tour to top tourism spots in Quang Nam, Danang and Thua Thien – Hue, and see resorts and five-star hotels, such as the Furama in Danang, the Pilgrimage in Hue and the Palm Garden and the Nam Hai in Quang Nam.

It is expected that this fact finding trip will help bring more tourists from Hong Kong to the area.

“In 2008, only a little more than 2,000 Hong Kong tourists came to the Central Region. That number is too low given the regional tourism potential”, said Dinh Hai, Director of Quang Nam’s Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism.

A Famtrip is fact finding and surveying trip to visit and evaluate the top tourism spots of a country to travel agencies and newspapers. With such thorough information on destinations, travel agencies can then tailor specific tours to individual customers.
