Attending the event, tourists will get a chance to enjoy traditional costume fashion shows as well as folk songs, dancing and instrumental performances by local artists and ethnic minority people.

The fair will feature over 30 stands showcasing a variety of tourism products from wooden handicrafts to traditional costumes and dishes.

A photograph exhibition will be held as part of the fair, depicting the beauty of the region’s landscapes, particularly Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark in Ha Giang province.

In addition, a seminar will discuss measures to promote Ha Giang province’s tourism products as well as bring more tourists to its Dong Van Karst Plateau.

According to Trieu Thi Tinh, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the organising board plans to make the fair an annual event that aims to strengthen tourism linkages between the regional provinces.

It will also contribute to preserving and promoting the cultural values of the northwest in an effort to make the region one of the eight special destinations in Vietnam, she said.
