The agreement marks a new phase of cooperation following the successful implementation of the 2023–2025 partnership deal, which helped strengthen links between aviation, tourism, investment and trade.
During the previous cooperation period, the two sides jointly promoted Da Nang as a destination through marketing campaigns in key domestic and international markets, organized familiarization trips for travel companies and international media, and participated in major international tourism fairs.

Vietnam Airlines also promoted the city's image through its communications ecosystem and partnered with Da Nang in hosting a series of high-profile events, including the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, the Da Nang Asian Film Festival, the Vietnam – Japan Festival and the Vietnam – Republic of Korea Festival, along with other tourism promotion programs.
The city's tourism sector has continued to benefit from expanding air connectivity. In the first six months of this year, Da Nang welcomed nearly 9.77 million overnight visitors, up 22% year-on-year. International tourist arrivals exceeded 5.16 million, an increase of 28%.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Manh Hung said aviation is a key driver of socio-economic development, particularly in tourism, investment, trade and international integration. Expanding cooperation with Vietnam Airlines would enhance connectivity, open up new markets, improve the city's competitiveness as a destination and support its development goals in the years ahead, he said.
Chairman of the Board of Management of Vietnam Airlines Dang Ngoc Hoa affirmed that Vietnam Airlines will continue working closely with the city to expand its domestic and international flight network, improve service quality, promote Da Nang in strategic markets and implement destination marketing programs to strengthen the city's position on the regional and global tourism map.
Under the new agreement, the two sides will cooperate on studying new domestic and international air routes, promoting Da Nang through Vietnam Airlines' communication platforms, and developing tourism products linked to the carrier's route network.
Priority will be given to MICE, resort, golf, cultural and culinary tourism. The partnership will also support the promotion of the city's OCOP (One Commune One Product) products, investment environment, trade and external relations.
A new feature of the agreement is the introduction of annual action plans, regular market data sharing and specific performance indicators to monitor implementation, ensuring the partnership remains effective and aligned with the city's development priorities.
