The initiative prioritized households with meritorious service to the nation, including relatives of war martyrs (272 homes), as well as poor and near-poor households (1,936 homes). Over 91.8 billion VND, accounting for 76.1% of the total funding needs, has already been disbursed to localities.
Provincial leaders emphasized that eradicating substandard houses is not only a political commitment but also a moral responsibility, aiming to ensure stable and secure living conditions for disadvantaged residents.
Since 2016, Yen Bai has supported the construction of more than 16,000 homes, including nearly 2,400 for households with meritorious service to the nation and over 13,600 for poor and near-poor households.
This effort has helped reduce the province’s poverty rate from 32.21% in 2016 to 5.86% in 2024.
