Viettel provides educational personnel with information security knowledge
PANO - The military-run telecom group, Viettel, and the Department of Information Technology (IT) under the Ministry of Education and Training on January 4 opened a two-day training course on information security knowledge and skills for IT personnel of the educational sector.
This was among the activities
realizing the cooperation agreement between the group and the Ministry of Education
and Training on IT and telecommunications in the 2017-2020 period.
During this first-ever
national-level training course, nearly 100 trainees were provided with basic
knowledge of and skills in information security, such as information security
challenges facing state agencies in general, and the education sector in
particular, as well as new approaches to information security and services.
They also exchanged measures to
keep information security and localities’ experiences on building information
security projects.
According to the Global
Cybersecurity Index in 2017 by the International Telecommunication Union, in
the first six months of 2017, Vietnam ranked 100th out of 193 member countries
on ensuring cyber security with 0.245 points.
In Vietnam, IT has been applied widely
in educational agencies and establishments. Therefore, due attention must be
paid to information security to avoid negative impacts on millions of involved
people.
