Vietnamese fishermen save Chinese fishermen in distress
PANO -Thirty two Chinese fishermen in distress at sea are being taken to Sa Ky port of Quang Ngai province.

At about 7:20 am on July 11, on the way to go fishing in the Truong Sa waters of Vietnam, trawler QNg-96169TS, owned by fisherman Bui Van Phai, a native of An Hai commune, Ly Son Island district, found 32 Chinese fishermen going adrift at sea. The trawler tried to approach to the troubled fishermen and saved all of them.
The trawler is now some 300 nautical miles from the mainland and is expected to reach the shore in several days’ time.
The same day, a rescue team on a military cargo ship, numbered 15-11-29, gave timely support to four fishermen on a tanker numbered74V-00689 which went sinking four nautical miles off the southwest of Con Co Island, Quang Tri province.
The tanker with Nguyen Van Viet living in An Hoa 2, Cua Tung town, VinhLinh district, Quang Tri province at the helm was carrying 20,000 liters of diesel.
According to Major Nguyen The Cong, a non-commissioned officer and the Captain of the military cargo ship under the Military Command of Con Co Island District, together with the saved fishermen, the crew collected all 20,000 liters of diesel to avoid the oil spill from spreading.
