US government to support Mekong Delta people in climate change responses
PANO - US Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel J. Kritenbrink will meet with farmers from some Mekong Delta provinces and cities to discuss challenges facing local people and fishermen experiencing the consequences of climate change.

During the meeting, the US side will provide the participants with solutions and basic knowledge to help them respond to effects of climate changes.
The US Ambassador on June 5 in Can Tho city participated in a seminar of the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) under the theme “Protecting Mekong Delta’s environment”, which gathered over 120 young leaders. YSEALI is a US Government sponsored program launched in December 2013 with the aim of strengthening leadership and economic development in Southeast Asia and contributing to building a Southeast Asian community.
Also in Can Tho city, the Ambassador attended an inauguration ceremony of an "American Hangout" placed in the Can Tho University. This newly-inaugurated space will be an address for local students, instructors and people to look up necessary documents, to exchange knowledge and to learn more about the US.
