Earlier on December 23, the trawler, captained by Vo Thanh That from Hoai Hai commune of Binh Dinh province’s Hoai Nhon district, went adrift 90 nautical miles off Khanh Hoa coast, due to its engine failure, in strong winds and high waves.

Receiving SOS signals from the troubled trawler, the center sent Ship SAR27-01 to the scene to tow it ashore. At 1:00am, December 25, the rescue mission was completed successfully.
