The course, lasting from October 2017 – January 2018, aims to help trainees master MEMS technology used in environment alert and construction of smart urban areas.

As part of a cooperation program between Ho Chi Minh City and the Dutch government, the course was conducted by the SHTP Research and Development Center, the Delft University of Technology and the Netherlands’ Fabmax company. The Dutch government funded 300,000 EUR to the project.

Fifteen trainees who are micro-electro-mechanical experts from universities and start-ups based in SHTP have so far mastered packaging technology using 3D printing and experimentally made flow sensors in the center.

Ngo Vo Ke Thanh, Director of the SHTP Research and Development Center, said the course will increase human resources for the project on micro-electro industry development in Ho Chi Minh City for the 2017-2020 period with vision to 2030.

Dutch experts also shared their experience in market analysis and MEMS commercialization during the course.

On the occasion, the center and the Delft University of Technology signed a cooperation agreement (the second stage) on pilot MEMS production, training of highly-skilled scientists and engineers, and organization of international seminars on MEMS.
