Storm Tembin weakens into tropical low pressure
PANO - According to the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, typhoon Tembin, the 16th storm hitting Vietnam this year, has weakened into a tropical low pressure.
At 4am on December 26, the centre of the low pressure was in the waters offshore Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces with the strongest wind speed of 40-60km per hour.

In the next 12 hours, it will move west at a speed of 15-20km per hour.
The low pressure is forecast to bring heavy rains along the coast from Binh Dinh to Phu Yen, posing a risk of flash flood and landslides.
Vietnam has seriously geared up for the storm. The Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control reported that border guards in coastal provinces closely worked with local authorities to inform nearly 70,000 ships with around 350,000 crewmen of developments of the storm.
Additionally, relevant forces evacuated thousands of residents from the places which might be badly affected by the storm to safer sites.
Meanwhile, military units have now well prepared forces and vehicles to deal with consequences. More than 92,500 personnel and 3,500 vehicles are ready to be deployed to support victims of the storm.
Before entering the East Sea, Tembin swept through Mindanao, the second biggest island of the Philippines, on December 22, with death toll now having risen to 240, according to latest reports.
