Startup competition launched to benefit disabled people
The Vietnam SDG Challenge 2019 competition, themed 'Innovative Solutions for Increasing Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities', has been launched by the National Startup Support Center under the Ministry of Science and Technology and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
SDG Challenge 2019 consists three rounds to select best products. Entries should be sent online no later than July 30. Winning startup teams will be trained six times on knowledge of startup and business in August and then they will enter speech round which is scheduled to take place in September.

Winning team will receive a trip to South Korea to study the country’s start-up ecosystem, visit social enterprises support system and meet potential investors as well as connect with UNDP in the region.
Additionally, the excellent team is entitled to participate in the incubation program in eight weeks, receive training provided by experts, investors, and organize startup activities in the country’s network.
According to the organizers, the competition aims to improve awareness about social integration for people with disabilities and broadcast information on products and services helping their accessibility into the community.
There are more than six million Vietnamese people with disabilities, according to the UNDP.
