Ship KN 473 tows distressed trawler ashore
PANO - Ship KN 473 of Fisheries Surveillance Squadron No.4 of the Vietnam Fisheries Surveillance Force approached and towed the distressed trawler BD 96869 TS from the waters of Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands ashore on April 17.
Earlier, trawler BD 96869 TS with Tran Ngoc Viet, 41 years old, living in Tam Quan Nam commune, Hoa Nhon district, Binh Dinh province, at the helm experienced engine failure when fishing tuna at sea. At that time, there were 11 fishermen on board.
While patrolling in the area of Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands, Ship KN 473 received the order to approach the distressed trawler and tow it ashore.
As scheduled, the ship is expected to arrive at Ba Ngoi Port in Cam Ranh City, Khanh Hoa province on April 19 and hand over the trawler to relevant agencies.
