The governmental leader expressed his hope at an inauguration ceremony of 1,000 remote medical examination and treatment facilities in Hanoi on September 25.
The ceremony saw the attendance of leaders from ministries, departments, international organizations, and more than 5,000 doctors and nurses across the country, along with those from Laos and Cambodia.

The inauguration of these facilities partly realizes the project on remote medical examination and treatment for the 2020-2025 period which has been jointly conducted by the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of National Defense and the Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel).
After two months of implementing the project, more than 1,000 medical sites have been connected to nearly 30 central and municipal hospitals in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and a number of Lao and Cambodian hospitals have also joined this network.
In his speech at the event, PM Phuc said that digital healthcare has played a significant part in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam.
He highlighted advantages of the model, saying that remote health care has not only helped to improve the medical quality but also created a digital foundation for the health sector.

He expressed his delight at the expansion of distance medical examination and treatment corridor to Laos and Cambodia. He suggested that more Vietnamese hospitals should partner with their counterparts in foreign countries with advanced medicine and doctors with professional competence.
PM Phuc asked the Ministry of Health and other relevant ministries and localities to complete a legal framework for remote healthcare, while joining with IT units to develop platforms and apps. for the services.
He urged the comprehensive application of digital technologies at health centers and more efforts in communication work in order to spread the model.
The governmental leader expressed his hope that the Ministry of Health will become one of the leading ministries and agencies in realizing the national digital transformation program.
Attending the ceremony, Acting Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said the ministry will soon debut a Vietnam health network which gathers doctors nationwide and acts as a forum for doctors to exchange experiences to improve their expertise to better serve people.
