Patient in Tho Chu Island receives telemedicine treatment
PANO - Doctors of the infirmary in Tho Chu Island, Phu Quoc island district, Kien Giang province, had a medical consultation teleconference with their colleagues from Military Hospital 108 through the telemedicine system, to provide treatment for an injured fisherman on December 10.

At about 5:00 am on December 9, fisherman Tran Thanh Phong, 42, a native in Lai Vung town, Lai Vung district, Dong Thap province, had an accident while fishing in international waters bordering the waters of Vietnam and Thailand. At night the same day, the patient was transferred to the infirmary.
After being hospitalized, his symptoms were diagnosed as a ruptured spleen and abdominal bleeding, and he needed urgent surgery.
Conducted under the observation of doctors of Military Hospital 108 through telemedicine, after two hours, the surgery was successful. The patient is currently recovering.
