Speaking at the event, the Deputy-Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue affirmed that since 1975, radio broadcasting has been an important type of the press. The development of technology has promoted public's demand for the access to information in general as well as media and press in particular. As a result, radio journalists across the country should take advantage of the advances in the technology of producing radio broadcasting programs and interacting with the public and focus on innovating contents and formats to reach radio listeners, he noted.

This year's festival drew the participation of 68 radio and television stations from provinces and cities nationwide, 14 units from the Voice of Vietnam, the Military Broadcasting Center and so on.

The festival aims to honor journalists who have made outstanding contributions to the society, with positive impacts. In addition, various activities related to radio and television such as exhibitions, seminars will be held during the event.
