According to President of the Vietnam Women's Union Ha Thi Nga, the recent storms have caused severe human and property loses, and the majority of the victims are women and children.

The VWU's Central Committee actively coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee to organize activities in support of flood-hit people.

By October 29, the Women's Union chapters had mobilized more than VND 20 billion for people in the Central region. In particular, the VWU also called on all of its chapters to hold fund-raising events for flood victims.

More than VND 7 billion has been raised so far.

Earlier, Nga sent a letter to encourage women in the Central region to overcome difficulties and soon resume their normal lives.
