Ministry submits plan to give presents to revolutionary contributors
The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) has proposed a plan on giving presents to people with meritorious services to the country’s revolution on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Wounded Soldiers' and Martyrs' Day (July 27).
Under the plan, which will cost more than VND 355.4 billion (over USD 15.5 million), gifts worth VND 400,000 (USD 17.5) each will be presented to heroic Vietnamese mothers; wounded soldiers and sick soldiers who have lost 81 percent or more of their working capacity; veteran revolutionaries who lost 81 percent or more of their working capacity due to exposure to toxic chemicals during the war; and fallen soldiers’ next of kin who enjoy monthly daily living allowances.
Meanwhile, gifts worth VND 200,000 (nearly USD 9) each will be distributed to wounded and sick soldiers who have lost 80 percent or less of their working capacity; veteran revolutionaries who lost 80 percent or less of their working capacity due to exposure to toxic chemicals during the war.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc authorized the Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to submit the plan to the President for approval.
The total amount of money for the gifts donation will be sourced from the 2018 State budget.
