Accordingly, needy students with outstanding academic results in the 2017-2018 academic year in the Mekong Delta will be presented scholarships from the “Vietnamese Seeds Fund” established by the Nhan dan (People’s) newspaper. This is the first edition of this year.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Sam, Head of the newspaper’s representative office in Can Tho city, told that the scholarships will be funded by the Lien Viet Post JSC Commercial Bank.

The award ceremony will take place at Can Tho University on August 18, honoring 1,300 students from primary, secondary, and high schools across 13 regional cities and provinces. 100 students from all cities and provinces of the region will receive scholarships worth VND 3 million each.

Established in 2012, the fund aims to step up the campaign for building a more educated society, which helps improve the quality of learning at secondary schools in communes nationwide. 

The scholarship program is to encourage poor students with excellent academic performances as well as to contribute to maintaining the local social security network and nurturing young talents.
