The 24-strong delegation, representing Vietnam to compete at the 21st edition, was welcomed by the Hanoi municipal Department of Education and Training on October 6 at the Noi Bai International Terminal.

At the ceremony, Director of the Hanoi municipal Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong handed over rewards from the department to participating teachers and students. He affirmed that the students' accomplishments in the competition not only reflected their exceptional thinking and knowledge, but also served as a source of pride for the education sector of Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular. The impressive results of the Hanoi students at the 2024 IMSO are a meaningful gift to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's liberation day and the 70th anniversary of the foundation day of the Hanoi education sector. He expected that the achievements would motivate schools in Hanoi to continue to strengthen their teaching and learning.

The 2024 IMSO took place from October 1 to October 6 in China, with the participation of 300 contestants from 18 countries. The IMSO is one of the prestigious academic competitions for students under 13 years old worldwide. The competition not only tests students’ knowledge, but also provides a platform for them to develop skills, creativity, and a spirit of inquiry. The results are clear proof of the strong development of Hanoi's education sector and affirm the importance of investing in high-quality education.
