The Red Spring Festival collected 10,267 blood units

During the 3-day event, the festival attracted 11,000 blood donors and collected 7,020 blood units.

According to Dr Bach Quoc Khanh, Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, other blood donation drives will continue for emergency and in-patient treatment at hospitals.

Under the theme “A drop of blood donated saves a life”, this year's festival aimed to ease blood shortages after the Lunar New Year festival and urge people to join hands to ensure adequate blood units for hospitals.

The Festival is the largest blood donation event that the Institute has launched since 2008. Over the past time, the program has attracted 190,000 blood donors donating 60,300 blood units.
