Green Sunday campaign launched nationwide
PANO - The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) on March 20 kicked off the Green Sunday campaign at the national level for the first time.
Reportedly, the campaign is under the Youth Month 2022 program, aiming at calling on people to join hands to address environmental pollution and respond to climate change, in order to welcome the coming 12th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for the 2022-2027 tenure.

An activity of the Green Sunday program |
The activities of "Green Sunday" focused on specific, practical and effective tasks such as raising the public’s awareness of the Green Sunday campaign, popularizing a movement on “saying no” to plastic waste, upholding the role of youths in applying biotech solutions to dealing with environmental pollution, and instructing local people to classify waste and treat household waste, to name but a few.
At the same time, the campaign supported start-ups and models among youths in fields of environmental protection and climate change response, while ensuring that the HCYU’s chapters at all levels will well respond to the event.
On this occasion, the HCYU mobilized its chapters to organize volunteer youth teams to clean up the environment, plant trees and flowers, and carry out projects to beautify sceneries of their localities and barracks.
Under the framework of the campaign, the HCYU also handed over facilities and models on freshwater, anti-plastic waste, road lighting systems, books to children on Phu Quy Island, flags and other gifts to needy people in 33 provinces and cities across the country.
