The Government leader commended Vinacomin on choosing advanced technology for both production and waste treatment for the plant.

He noted that the plant has contributed significantly to economic growth in the Central Highlands in general and Dak Nong in particular, creating jobs for local residents.

With a total investment surpassing VND 16.8 trillion (USD 739.2 million), the Nhan Co project consists of the Nhan Co alumina plant and bauxite mining, with a capacity of approximately 650,000 tons of alumina annually.

The Nhan Co plant is now in trial run and is scheduled to be handed over to Vinacomin within the first quarter of 2017.

As of January 11, it produced 67.301 tons of hydrate and 21,828 tons of alumina in total.

The plant shipped 100 tons of hydrate to the Republic of Korea in December 2016 and another 100 tons to Japan in early January.
