Conference seeks to improve Hanoi’s air quality
PANO - The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, in association with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) and the Center for Ecological Living and Learning (CELL), on November 27 held a conference themed "Strengthening role and cooperation to improve Hanoi’s air quality" with the participation of nearly 200 domestic and international delegates.
The conference aimed to enhance dialogues, information sharing, practical experience exchange, combine solutions and promote cooperation between public and private sectors and among social organizations and development partners. It also encourages carrying out common activities to improve air quality.
Particularly, the delegates discussed the air quality management in Hanoi and introduced ideas and initiatives on environmental protection and improvement of air quality from enterprises.
These include producing air quality measurement devices, researching air filtration solutions, replacing honeycomb coal-burning stoves with the ones using fuel tablets, stopping burning stubble, encouraging recycling wastes, and promoting natural-origin products.
Besides, the delegates also proposed sound solutions to building an action plan to improve Hanoi’s air quality.
