An overview of the press conference |
Themed “A million trees – For a green Vietnam,” the program aims to raise awareness and responsibility among members, youths, and people about the role and importance of green trees, forests, also the urgency of reforestation and forest protection, and the protection of natural resources such as land, water, air, and others.
It is also expected to contribute to Vietnam’s restoration of watershed forests, green tree development, environmental protection, and climate change responses.
Meanwhile, the program is an activity in response to the Government’s program on planting one billion trees by 2025 and the target of planting 100 million new trees set by the HCYU Central Committee.
In 2022, the organizing panel set a goal to plant 50,000 new trees in watershed forests (about 40 hectares) in the provinces of Dak Lak and Dak Nong, together with mobilizing residents to plant an addition of 10,000 trees.
