PANO – The Vietnam Bank of Trade and Industry (Vietinbank) has held a groundbreaking ceremony to build 72 “Great Unity” houses at a total cost of VND 3.6 billion or VND 500 million per house for disadvantaged households in Que Son district, Quang Nam province, in response to the “Month for the Poor”.

Speaking at the ceremony, representative of the bank Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan stressed that the bank wishes authorities at all level, individual, and organizational donors to join hands in supporting people with housing difficulties, helping them stabilize their lives, encouraging them to overcome their difficulties in life and to work harder to escape poverty sustainably.
Over the past years, VietinBank spent more than VND 178 billion to build 454 houses for poor households, two rural bridges, 2 communal houses, 29 schools and one boarding hostel in Quang Nam province.
Additionally, the bank has conducted other social activities, such as building three martyrs’ cemeteries, one war memorial, one relic site; providing 1,000 tons of rice to needy people; presenting one ambulance automobile and gifts to poor people in the province.
